The Rapid Decent 15K
Northview Championship Cross Country Course
12900 Hazel Dell Parkway, Carmel, IN 46033
7:00am August 1st 7am
The Rapid Decent 15K is a series of consecutive races run back to back, on the same morning, starting with a 5K, then 4K, all the way to a 1K finale.
This is a real (not virtual) event open to everyone.
And there's a race option for everyone as well! No matter your pace, all are welcome. And there a lots of ways to participate!
Run each stage for a total of 15K. Just think of it as 5 long intervals!
Put together a team of 2 to 5 runners to complete the 15K. You decide who runs which segment by handing over your team's scoring bib.
This will be great division for cross country teams training for the upcoming season, but also a fun way for you to compete with your running buddies!
Run just one segment. You choose which of the segments you want to run.
Here are the segments with start times and time between to recover:
5K starts at 7:00 am ( 50 min )
4K starts at 7:50 am ( 35 min )
3K starts at 8:25 am ( 25 min )
2K starts at 8:50 am ( 20 min )
1K starts at 9:10 am ( no individual 1k run )
Notes on the schedule:
As you finish each segment, mind the schedule to make the best use of the time before you have to head back to the starting line. Hydrate, stretch, whatever you need to do get ready for your next segment. You may want to use a bit of strategy... the faster you go, the more time you'll have to recovery, but the more rest you'll need, too.
Just make sure one of your team members is at the starting line for each segment.
Make sure you are at the starting line for the start of your segment.
