 2001 — Maurice Greene equals his world record in the 60-meter dash,  running 6.39 seconds in a semifinal heat at the USA Indoor Championships  in Atlanta. Greene matches the time he set Feb. 9, 1998, at Madrid,  Spain.

  There was no Cross Country state meet when Caroline was in high school Caroline is recognized by the International Association of Athletic Federations as having run the world’s best time in the marathon in 1970,at age 16.   Walker attended the University of Oregon where she received instruction from the legendary Steve Prefontaine.
